Instagram stories last 24 hours
An Instagram story disappears 24 hours after it is posted. This page works as an Instagram story saver for public accounts: it shows the stories an account has up right now, each one as a tile with the time it was posted and a Download button; photos are saved as images, videos as MP4. Download all saves them one after another.
Older stories are gone unless the owner pinned them to the profile as a highlight — the highlights downloader finds those.
Watch and save each story
Every story is a tile in the order Instagram returns them. Tap a tile to open it in the viewer: photos are shown full size and videos play with their controls, and the arrows step through the rest. Each tile and the viewer have their own Download button, and the file is named after the account and the story, for example natgeo_story_3456789012345678901.mp4.
Search by username or story link
Type the account’s username (with or without the @), paste its profile link, or paste a story link (instagram.com/stories/name/…). With a story link, the account’s current stories load with the linked one marked; if it has expired since, you’ll see the ones that are still up.
The lookup runs on the service’s own connection to Instagram. Your Instagram account is never used, and we never ask for your password.
How to download Instagram stories
- Copy the account’s username, its profile link, or a story link (⋯ → Copy link on a story).
- Paste it here, or type the username, and press Enter.
- Tap Download on a story, or Download all. Tap a tile to watch it first.
Where downloaded stories are saved
iPhone and iPad
Safari shows a download arrow in the address bar. The file is in the Files app under Downloads; open it there and tap Share → Save Video or Save Image to put it in Photos.
Android
Chrome says when the download is complete. The file is in the Downloads folder of the Files app, and gallery apps usually list it in a Download album.
Computer
The file goes to your browser’s download folder, named after the account and the story item, for example natgeo_story_3401234567890.mp4 (a photo story ends in .jpg).

How do I download someone’s Instagram story?
Type their username here and press Enter. If the account is public and has stories up, each one appears with a Download button; Download all saves every story.
Can I watch Instagram stories without them knowing?
Your Instagram account is never used, so your name can’t appear in their viewer list.
How long are stories available?
For 24 hours after they are posted. After that, only stories the owner added to a highlight can be found — use the highlights downloader.
Why do I see “No active stories”?
The account hasn’t posted a story in the last 24 hours, or it is private.
Can I open one specific story from a link?
Yes. Paste it, and we load that account’s current stories with the linked one selected.
Can I see Close Friends stories?
No. Only stories shown to everyone.
Can I save stories of a private account?
These tools are made for public accounts. A private account normally shows a message instead of its stories.
Do I need to log in or give my Instagram password?
No. We never ask for it, and your Instagram account is never used: the lookups run on the service’s own connection to Instagram.
