Terms, privacy and removal requests
How this service works, in short. Last updated: .
Not affiliated with Instagram or Meta
This is an independent service. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Instagram or Meta Platforms, Inc. Instagram is a trademark of Meta Platforms, Inc.
Terms of use
- The Instagram viewer, the downloaders and the API are made for content that its owners have made public on Instagram. They are not built for private accounts, Close Friends stories or anything behind a login: a private account normally shows a message instead of its posts and stories. We never ask for your Instagram password.
- Photos, videos and texts belong to the people who posted them. You are responsible for what you do with what you save: keep it for personal use, and get the creator’s permission before reposting, publishing or otherwise reusing it.
- Don’t use the service to harass, follow or impersonate anyone, or to break the law where you live.
- Requests can be limited (per address, per API key and per download) so the service stays usable for everyone. A request over a limit is refused with a message that says when to try again.
- The service is provided as it is. Instagram decides what it returns, and the file links it gives out expire, so a lookup can fail or change at any time.
API keys and paid plans
- The Instagram viewer and the downloader pages are free. The API is used with a key, and every key belongs to a plan; the plans and their limits are listed on the pricing page.
- A plan’s limits per minute, per day and per month are enforced by the server: past a limit the API answers 429 until that window resets. Nothing is billed beyond the plan.
- Payment is arranged directly with us, not on this site: the site takes no card details and nothing renews or charges automatically. A plan change applies to the same key at once.
- Questions about a payment or a refund are answered in the same conversation in which the plan was bought.
Privacy
No sign-up and no Instagram login. These pages load no analytics, no ads and no scripts from other sites. What the server keeps:
- Request logs. To run the limits and keep the service healthy, the server records each lookup: the time, what was looked up (a username or a link) and the result. The web server’s access log also records your IP address and the address you requested. Log files are rotated daily and deleted after about two weeks.
- Rate-limit counters. Counters per IP address are kept in memory for a few minutes and then dropped.
- Statistics. Counts of requests per endpoint, result and API key, and a log of events on the service’s own Instagram accounts, which can name the lookup that caused one. They hold no IP addresses and are kept for a limited time.
- Media. Photos and videos are fetched from Instagram when you ask for them and streamed to your browser; downloads are not stored. Preview images can stay in the server’s memory for up to 30 minutes so pages load faster.
- In your browser. The site remembers your light or dark theme (and the documentation’s language) in your browser’s local storage.
Removal requests
We do not host media: what the tools show is fetched from Instagram when someone asks for it. To have a post or an account removed from Instagram itself, use Instagram’s own reporting tools.
